Hydrology & Erosion Control Workshop — Darwin

  • Bonaparte Room at Novotel Darwin Airport 2 Henry Wrigley Drive Eaton, NT, 0820 Australia (map)

Sandy Creek | Rapid Creek | Ludmilla Creek

Landcare NT is hosting a hydrology and erosion control workshop delivered by the Mulloon Institute, focused on caring for local waterways and understanding how water moves through our landscapes.

This workshop brings people together to explore hydrology and erosion issues affecting the creeks, including catchment hydrological conditions, sedimentation and erosion. The session will share practical concepts for addressing these challenges, supporting improved water quality and the creek’s natural function.

Across the session, participants can expect:

  • an introduction to hydrology and how water, nutrients and energy move through landscapes

  • discussion of erosion, sedimentation and water quality in an urban Top End context

  • visit local creek sites to look at on-ground conditions, talk through what is happening, and discuss what is working and where there is opportunity

  • back at the venue, we will share findings and walk through the recommendations of the report

  • Q&A and group discussion

A hands-on day for anyone interested in strengthening the resilience of our local landscapes.
