Saturday 19th September 8:00-10:00am - Mangroves and Shorebirds at Sandy Creek
These walks are suitable for all ages and experience levels, whether you're picking up a pair of binoculars for the first time or have years of birdwatching experience. Along the way you'll learn how to identify local birds, understand their behaviour and habitats and contribute to citizen science that helps build knowledge of our local wildlife.
Each walk will be led by Mitch Rose, a local youth worker, birder and advocate for nature conservation. Mitch has spent the last few years exploring and documenting the birds of the Top End and is passionate about helping people connect with birds, nature and their local environment.
Come along to learn something new, meet like-minded people and discover the remarkable birdlife living right on our doorstep.
Additional Information:
Bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes.
Meeting location will be provided upon RSVP.
This event is family friendly and all ages are welcome. Children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
