Rapid Creek Planting Day

$0.00

Help restore the Alawa Oval bushland

Saturday 13th December, 8:00-12:30 at Rapid Creek Landcare Group Restoration Site (Alawa Oval)

Join LandcareNT and Rapid Creek Landcare Group as we begin an exciting project to restore native vegetation beside Rapid Creek.

Together, we aim to plant approximately 1,000 locally appropriate native plants, helping to rebuild habitat, encourage natural regeneration and create a healthier, more resilient creek corridor.

Registration is essential!

Activities will include:

  • Planting and watering native seedlings

  • Mulching and preparing planting areas

  • Learning about revegetation and caring for Rapid Creek

  • Meeting local landcarers and other community members

Additional Information:

  • No previous experience is required. Guidance will be provided on the day.

  • Please wear enclosed shoes, sun-safe clothing and a hat.

  • Bring a water bottle and gardening gloves if you have them.

  • Children are welcome but must be supervised by an adult.

This planting day is part of a longer-term rehabilitation project involving weed management, irrigation, natural regeneration, ongoing maintenance and community stewardship.

Every plant - and every pair of hands - will help bring this part of Rapid Creek back to life.

Organised by LandcareNT and Rapid Creek Landcare Group

LandcareNT and Rapid Creek Landcare Group acknowledge the Larrakia people as the Traditional Owners of the Darwin region and pay respect to their Elders past and present.
