Walks for Curious People - Drain Detectives – Where Does Our Water Go? Rapid Creek

$10.00

Saturday 20th February 4:00-6:00pm at Rapid Creek (Jingili Water Gardens)

Creek Knowledge Walks invite the community to slow down and learn more about the places, stories and ecosystems that shape our local waterways. Guided by local knowledge holders, scientists and community members, these relaxed walks explore different aspects of creek life - from plants and wildlife to water, culture and care.

Places are limited and tickets are essential - purchase below!

An opportunity to slow down, look a little closer and discover the incredible diversity of plants growing right on our doorstep.

Ever wondered where the water goes when it rains?

Join us for a hands-on adventure exploring the hidden connections between our streets, stormwater drains, local creeks and Darwin Harbour. We’ll follow the path of water through our neighbourhoods, discover what gets washed into our waterways and learn how we can help keep our creeks healthy.

A fun, interactive activity for curious kids and families to explore their local catchment and see their neighbourhood in a whole new way!

Facilitated by Emma Lupin, a plant lover, sensory explorer and an environmental educator.

Additional information:

  • This event is held at Jingili Water Gardens which is a fully accessible site.

  • Family friendly event suitable for all ages, children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Please bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, enclosed walking shoes and your detective curiosity!

  • Wear comfortable clothes suitable for exploring outdoors, and be prepared for a little mud and wet weather.
